The Blog’s Inspiration by Definition:
ten-nis, n. a game played on a rectangular court by two players or two pairs of players equipped with rackets, in which a ball is driven back and forth over a low net that divides the court in half.
te-na-cious, adj. 1. holding fast; characterized by keeping a firm hold. 2. highly retentive. 3. pertinacious, persistent, stubborn, or obstinate.

Benjamin (Ben) Snyder is the author of this blog. A sophomore at Goucher College, Ben plans to double major in American Studies and Communications. Ben has taken such classes as Critical Analysis of Journalism, Consumer Culture, the Media & the Environment, Journalism Workshop, American Literature, and others to further explore his interests in areas about American media, literature, popular culture, and history.
Along with striving for excellence in the classroom, Ben also holds leadership in his extracurricular activities. He serves as the Associate and News Editor for The Quindecim, Goucher College’s independent student newspaper. Click here to visit the newspaper’s website.
Ben has also taken his passion for journalism to the professional level. This past summer, he worked as an intern for Fortune.com, Fortune Magazine’s official website. With over six years of experience working for various publications, he is a multimedia journalist passionate about covering a wide range of topics, including technology, business, popular culture, lifestyle, education, the environment, and tennis. Along with his work as a journalist, Ben plays for Goucher’s Division III Varsity Men’s tennis team. He has played for the past six years
and enjoys playing, watching, reading, and writing about the sport. This blog, Tenaciously Tennis, serves as an outlet for his collection of tennis writing. He hopes to one day travel the world to report about the sport.
